Birthday Party Gift Ideas for Men

Don't know what to get him for his birthday? A shiny gadget will usually do it; keeping him entertained for hours.

But maybe your plan was to do something... get him something better than that. So, here are Cater-Hater's Birthday Party Gift Ideas for Men...

Birthday party gift... make it a personal, fun experience -

If he's a wine drinker and fancies himself to be a wine aficionado, take him to a local winery for a wine tasting session. If it's in your budget, plan the ultimate winery experience... a trip to Napa Valley, California. You want to make it really special for him? Accompany him for his special birthday outing. He will appreciate that you've taken the time to align your interests and tastes with his.

When he loves sports... say, specifically, basketball - for example... splurge and get him a couple of "good seat" tickets to a game; tickets that will make him brag about how he couldn't believe just how great his seats were. And, if you can swing it... get to him two tickets to the play-offs. He'll love you for it.

Custom birthday party gift... plan an abduction experience -

This can go a few different ways... depending on how elaborate you'd like to get with your plans. The "abduction" style birthday gift can involve a plan for a day, three days, a week... whatever your wallet can afford. You can do something as simple as make dinner reservations at a premier steak house or any other restaurant of his choice (you will impress him more if you go with him and don't like it).

Drive out of town to take him to see his favorite band for the weekend. Stay at that hotel you've always talked about trying out. Or, try out that bed and breakfast that your friends have suggested. Abduction getaways make the celebrant feel mighty special, knowing that you've put so much into it; taking the time to plan everything out.

Stop by that infamous bar that you've both heard so much about. When he's over worked, give him four lazy day passes to take the stress off; so he will do what he wants and unwind.

Birthday party gift idea... make it an affordable experience -

Most guys would never admit it, but they know when you've bought them something and didn't put a lot of thought into it. When you don't have a lot of cash to spend you'd be better off spending hours upon hours rummaging through every old vinyl record at your local area weekend flea market (better still, if you live in California take a trek to the famous Pasadena Flea Market they have every weekend. Phenomenal!).

While you're flea marketing and possibly even antiquing, look for cool stuff he'd really like (that you might think is kind of ridiculous) such as, vintage baseball cards, comic books, old college pennants, antique cameras, postcards from out-of-the-way places, old clocks, vintage wool shirts and flannel shirts, sporting equipment, belt buckles, old trunks and suitcases, and old black and white photographs that would only speak to him (mean something of importance to him).

Birthday party gift favorite... the upgrade experience -

Almost every guy I know doesn't like to spend much money on themselves. And, that's where you come in. Knowing this gives you a head start.

Go through his closet and take a look at his favorite belts. Choose one and upgrade it, opting for the same belt made in a better leather or snakeskin.

Upgrade his favorite tee-shirts buying him a few of the same, only in 100% silk (he'll like the way that it feels against his skin)

Most men aren't hung up on petty details like some females are, which means they're oftentimes easier to shop for than women. There are a slew of birthday party gift ideas for men that I know I've forgotten. Leave a comment and share one that you've thought of, that I've missed that you would have added to this post.

I do this... I write to help to create to opportunities for all who choose to pursue their passion to have parties almost irregardless regard to economic constraints.

I think if we keep talking about the cost of parties (I write blog posts, you write comments), together, maybe we can break down some of the party industry's price barriers and shame some of the people who've taken your money and delivered a poor quality product right into growing a conscious and treating you right (nice thought, huh?).

Opportunities to be inspired about parties are everywhere. Yet, people looking out for your wallet are few and far between. My goal is to inspire you, causing you to question the way things are that have been the status quo for too long. When we stand together and speak up, we can be a powerful force.

Let's keep the conversation of change going. Because in the sea of everyone talking, one voice is a whisper... several voices are a scream.

Leave a comment and share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions below. Remember to be as specific as possible because what you have to say helps us all.

Always... be encouraged and encourage others too,

I'm Carlo. And this is my party truth.

I'm an off-premise catering evangelist/outlaw. I'm a passionista. I'm a paradox. I love when a client hires me to oversee their entire event, from start to finish - because I'm an event planner too.

I'm proud to be mom to Petey Wheatstraw, "the devil's son-in-law" - the best damn Chihuahua North of Mexico. I grew up in Rochester, Michigan. I currently live deep in the heart of Texas. And boy, do I ever miss Xochimilco Super Nachos, the fragrance of Fall and fresh cider and donuts at Paint Creek Cider Mill, and eating a Detroit Lafayette Coney Island when the mood hits me.

It's cool of you to stop by. And you know what's even better? Finding out what you have to say! Hit me up with a comment. Hang with me on Twitter . Or, connect with me using the FB gadget or G+ button on the sidebar. For real, I'd be really honored if you'd stop and give me a moment of your time - by clicking on either one. If you want to ask me anything or want to leave a comment, you know the drill; "Contact".

I like people. Especially, people who want the party truth. Talk to me.
