How To Get The Maximum Effect At Your White Party

White Party 2010Every party host should have at least one White Party. White parties have become party style staples that an avid party thrower can add to their yearly mix of party themes.

  • Get your White Party right
A White Party is as simple and as adorned or unadorned as you'd like it to be. So, it's best if you choose high quality fabrics - and make sure your cotton table cloths, table runners, and napkins are starched to a crisp.

Lots of detail within the fabric - quilting or darts, for example - will add dimension. Don't skimp. Choose to use plenty of white fabric everywhere.

If you've paid for tenting, be sure to outfit your tent interior and powder room tent in the gorgeous decor of your chosen white fabric; i.e., various-size pillows, comfortable seating, and rented white storage trunks to use as end tables. Then, dress your white powder room with lots of wonderful, lush greenery; i.e., Boston ferns, Ficus and Fiddle Leaf fig trees.
  • Pair white well
If you've found a great location for a tent and you're tenting your White Party, keep things looking neat and organized. Chair covers and set covers on rented Chivari chairs can give you a dressy casual look. But, make sure no one sits on them before your White Party begins, because wrinkling is inevitable. Don't overdo your decor, otherwise it can look fussy and uptight.
  • Dress white up
All of that crisp white fabric is a wonderful blank canvas for accessorizing. Stick to one statement piece - a huge floral or statue centerpiece as the focal point of the room.
  • Pre-party set up with care
If you get a dirty spot on anything before your White Party begins, launder carefully. And, remember chemicals can cause yellowing. First, try using a cold, damp cloth. And, if you can, hang the soiled white item up to dry.

Lotions, fragrances, and perspiration can discolor the fabrics, so place your white accessory items just before your party start time. Or, if you're purchasing white pillows and knick-knacks, consider buying two - one to use at the start and one to use later, if needed.

I'm Carlo. And this is my party truth.

I'm an off-premise catering evangelist/outlaw. I'm a passionista. I'm a paradox. I love when a client hires me to oversee their entire event, from start to finish - because I'm an event planner too.

I'm proud to be mom to Petey Wheatstraw, "the devil's son-in-law" - the best damn Chihuahua North of Mexico. I grew up in Rochester, Michigan. I currently live deep in the heart of Texas. And boy, do I ever miss Xochimilco Super Nachos, the fragrance of Fall and fresh cider and donuts at Paint Creek Cider Mill, and eating a Detroit Lafayette Coney Island when the mood hits me.

It's cool of you to stop by. And you know what's even better? Finding out what you have to say! Hit me up with a comment. Hang with me on Twitter (three accounts, you choose; @TheCaterHater, @CarloAtYourServ, or @CarloAtYourSer2). Or, connect with me using the FB gadget or G+ button on the sidebar. For real, I'd be honored if you'd click on either one. If you want to ask me anything or want to leave a comment, you know the drill; "Contact".

I like people. Especially, people who want the party truth. Talk to me.
