The Best Way to Work with a Wedding Planner or an Event Planner

A wedding at the <span class=

Working with a wedding planner or an event planner is similar to a marriage. Planning the most important day in your life, your wedding day - or some other type of significant event - while having the tenacity to get through the process will come in handy, so patience is the key.

One of the best ways to make things work is to refuse to dwell on anything negative. Look forward because the past is done.

Create a family-type bond with your planner immediately. Think about it. The better your level of comfort ability, the less forced acceptance will be required by both parties. Creating this type of bond will be unexpected, so you'll look like the perfect client in their eyes. And you know what that means... A great working relationship for you.

The perfect wedding or special event planner is someone who is equally creative and passionate about their work, your wedding reception or party, and it's success.

What are one of the main things that you need to know about how to be a wedding planner?

A good planner lives by this rule:
Your special day is defined by you - not money or luxuries. Because only you know what kind of fairy tale you want to create. So as you plan it keep in mind that the ones that work so well is because... Shh! Only you know that it's not a fairy tale. Just like life and love take an incredible amount of work, so do weddings, special events and parties.

Are
event planners and wedding planners the same thing? And, what do I need to know to help me understand the duties of a wedding planner, so that I can understand how a wedding planner might operate?

A wedding is an event, even if you're planning a simple wedding. And to some planners and even some destination wedding planners, whether it's a wedding they're planning or otherwise, an event is an event. On many levels there are similarities. So, to some degree, event planning and wedding planning are one in the same. But no, they're not the same thing.

What a wedding planner does can command months worth of their attention. And what an event planner does may require only one week. It depends on the requirements of the job. Either way, they need to come up with great wedding planning ideas and event planning ideas. Their desire for the final outcome is the same; to perfectly plan and execute a wonderful event for their client. And to make that happen, the duties of both a wedding planner and an event planner can be summed up in two words: long and plenty.

Planning a wedding reception, like planning an event, is no joke. People are spending their hard-earned money, which makes it serious business.

Wedding party planners (and event planners) typically go through a lot; sometimes things that you never find out about. Their job isn't completed until you're leaving your wedding reception, headed toward your honeymoon destination. While working with your wedding planner, please don't think that your planner doesn't care. If anything, some planners can care too much. As yourself this. Have you hired a wedding planner who has consented to working in a business that they hate? I doubt it.

Being a wedding planner isn't always easy. You have to really love brides and weddings in order to deal with some of the wedding planning pitfalls that can occur, and tolerate some of the Bridezilla's that a bride can sometimes turn into.

As you walk through the process of planning your wedding day always remember that indecisiveness may cause you to miss out on things. And that from hour to hour and day to day, in "party world" things are always subject to change. And that, sometimes, can work out to be a good thing.

Remain gracious at all times. Try not to miss a beat and take everything into consideration, because you know you're not the type to do anything half-assed.

Plan to enjoy planning your wedding as much as you plan to enjoy your wedding. It will be the perfect day that you've created, and everything will be alright. So keep your chin up. Keep a good head on your shoulders. And remember, wedding and event planners care about you. But most of all have a great time! You're the belle of the ball and you can feel good about that.

I'm Carlo. And this is my party truth.

I'm an off-premise catering evangelist/outlaw. I'm a passionista. I'm a paradox. I love when a client hires me to oversee their entire event, from start to finish - because I'm an event planner too.

I'm proud to be mom to Petey Wheatstraw, "the devil's son-in-law" - the best damn Chihuahua North of Mexico. I grew up in Rochester, Michigan. I currently live deep in the heart of Texas. And boy, do I ever miss Xochimilco Super Nachos, the fragrance of Fall and fresh cider and donuts at Paint Creek Cider Mill, and eating a Detroit Lafayette Coney Island when the mood hits me.

It's cool of you to stop by. And you know what's even better? Finding out what you have to say! Hit me up with a comment. Hang with me on Twitter (three accounts, you choose; @TheCaterHater, @CarloAtYourServ, or @CarloAtYourSer2). Or, connect with me using the FB gadget or G+ button on the sidebar. For real, I'd be honored if you'd click on either one. If you want to ask me anything or want to leave a comment, you know the drill; "Contact".

I like people. Especially, people who want the party truth. Talk to me.
