Aren't you just a wee bit exasperated by the seemingly eternal messages of hope about the non-existent jobs that is being told to us by "the powers that be"? One root problem is that they clearly dis-empowered us when they gave our jobs away, to other countries, back in the day.
We should have known this would happen.
We should have known that one day we'd be right here, in this mess.
Are you a party business owner that's been willing to go with your gut?
It's proven to not be a wise choice to be a party business owner that too much calculates anything - like fearing not being popular or worrying that - Oh, people will think I'm crazy, because I don't own my own commercial kitchen or company trucks.
Sorry, but the party business love affair should be with the work.
It may stand to reason that a new type of progressive party business owner should and will create a new bastion of a type of party business. It would be an over simplification, however, to once again try to box what worked in the past in. It used to be that being "big" reigned successful. We should be more intrigued by the "small is the new big" party business approach and unimpressed with large corporate, Wall Street looking business operations. Hasn't everyone figured out that big means failure?
We're past the turning point. Because if you're smart you know that "big" is definitely nothing to aspire to. This decades leading party businesses will be lean party making machines. This is a moment in time when "different" is interesting. Let's face it, the dollars aren't coming in like they used to, and it's not just because of the economy, either. Party consumers have grown bored with the big bang production of large, corporate looking and acting party companies that charge them big fees.
Sure, today's successful party business, set against the backdrop of our "economy from hell", will still struggle but will eventually escape old school opinions of big business oppression. And for them, their determination to liberate themselves will in itself be empowering, even if they don't all find mega-million dollar success. If they have the courage to stand small and alone, they've taken their lives into their own hands and that's commendable.
All small party businesses won't shut down. I know, firsthand. The "small is the new big " way of operating is what appealed to and happened to me.
Even with Facebook, Twine and Twitter; "they" still don't get it. They think that the party business will eventually get back to the way things once were, poor things.
I almost feel like being small (and not always being taken very seriously, at times) happened to me so I could be a voice for the up and comer's who are (and will) going through what I've gone through and don't know where or how to begin to talk about it; wanting to be small which is "different".
Determined not to to feel like a party business casualty ever again, the new decade mantra is: ALWAYS A LESSON, NEVER A FAILURE.
So you know what? Whether you're wondering how to start your own party planning business, designing pages for a greeting card scrapbook, designing a web page, or looking for tips to opening a wedding and party planning business, designing a menu for a restaurant, fashion designing, designing your own tattoo, designing a company logo, or looking for secrets to home party business success or looking for a home party business tip...
ALWAYS A LESSON, NEVER A FAILURE is a good expression or idea for all of us, don't you think?

I'm an off-premise catering evangelist/outlaw. I'm a passionista. I'm a paradox. I love when a client hires me to oversee their entire event, from start to finish - because I'm an event planner too.
I'm proud to be mom to Petey Wheatstraw, "the devil's son-in-law" - the best damn Chihuahua North of Mexico. I grew up in Rochester, Michigan. I currently live deep in the heart of Texas. And boy, do I ever miss Xochimilco Super Nachos, the fragrance of Fall and fresh cider and donuts at Paint Creek Cider Mill, and eating a Detroit Lafayette Coney Island when the mood hits me.
It's cool of you to stop by. And you know what's even better? Finding out what you have to say! Hit me up with a comment. Hang with me on Twitter (three accounts, you choose; @TheCaterHater, @CarloAtYourServ, or @CarloAtYourSer2). Or, connect with me using the FB gadget or G+ button on the sidebar. For real, I'd be honored if you'd click on either one.
If you want to ask me anything or want to leave a comment, you know the drill; "Contact".
I like people. Especially, people who want the party truth. Talk to me.
