Lucky Eleven Party Concepts

You're in luck! You stand a better chance of making your party a big success with this list of lucky eleven party concepts than any two dice landing, and adding up to, the number eleven.

Getting everything to work out perfectly for a party can always be a gamble, even for a seasoned party pro like myself.

If too many of the kitchen crew are late or some of your food servers don't show up, your entire party can be ruined.

These are your new party lucky charms.

You won't find these lucky eleven party concept suggestions in
Lucky magazine or anywhere else. None of these are seasonal concepts. Use them as your concept map for your upcoming Christmas party. And because you can pull off some of these ideas on the cheap, they're perfect for college parties, too.

On my list of things to get excited about for 2010 are: high drama drinks and showstopper party tent scarves.

Party tent scarves? Yes indeed, you read that right.
Below are tips about party supplies and other creative party concepts presented as things that come in a group of eleven.

To learn about lucky eleven party concepts, read on...

1.) The Hollywood Influence of "The Basics"

- Your "party uniform"; effortless, tailored decor party frocks are your party rental staples -
  • The great party chair - called the Chivari
  • The unpredictable party table - instead of round, choose any other shape; seat 4, 6, or 8 instead of 10.
Cater-Hater Tip: Choose rental items to create a "party cove" with a non-trendy look that will last. When you look back at your pictures, you'll like it now and ten years from now. Choose "party uniform" rental party stars as classic as an American Movie Classics film starring Lana Turner, Katherine Hepburn, Errol Flynn, or Humphrey Bogart.

    2.) Haute Party Economics

    - Your special celebration savings; expensive custom-made party items aren't practical -
    • Tent liner fabrics - Choose a pattern, style or texture, and repeat use everywhere!
    • Pillow-chic accessories - visit your local fabric store for pillow decorating inspiration. Buy cheap pillows at Target or Wal-Mart.
Inexpensive glamour = buying lots of cheap and simple yet chic pillows of style, keeping more money in your pocket.

    Cater-Hater Tip:
Customize inexpensive glamour and buy fantastically gorgeous and fun buttons and sew them on your new pillows. After your party, you can use your party pillows at home (or give them away as gifts).

    3.) Graffiti-Inspired Cool Tent Scarves

    - Your style guide; street-inspired scarf motifs give your tent's interior urban chic style -
    • Wall and ceiling tent lining - Make "graffiti concept art"; loosely drape an assortment of deliciously soft big squares of fabric inside the tent lining everywhere!
    • Make your own pillows with tent scarf fabric - Want a casual look? Buy sturdy cotton twill. Or, fancy-it-up with a beautiful, crisp silk doupioni fabric. Both fabrics are easy for beginners to work with.
Cater-Hater Tip: Iron out all tent scarf and pillow fabric wrinkles before the party. Pressing the kinks out makes everything look well made and expensive.

    4.) The Clever Cocktail

    - Your beverage lesson; judged superior taste, your guests will be impressed -
Cater-Hater Tip: Talk about lucky eleven party concepts! Be the first. Serve everyone in your gang your special take on the latest, new beverage concepts. Your libation fame will grow to iconic proportions.

    5.) The 24/7 Party Accessory

-Your floral class; luxe or laid back, always appropriate day or night -
    • Display your flowers - dress up any room with an elegant statement.
    • Give away flowers - dress down showing up empty handed.
Cater-Hater Tip: Err on either side of caution. Treat flowers as your "new" decor accessory. And let flowers be your unexpected gift.

6.) The Corporate Party Pattern Maker's New Style of Parties

    - Your "party power suit"; tailor-made to suit you! -
    • Styled by a "party couturier" (professional party-maker) -giving you a classic party "line of fashion", designed for your purpose of corporate exclusivity, with style and seasonless-ness that will only add to your company's value.
    • Have one "sketch" or plan - i.e., showcase the "fabric" of six or more varied party themes within your one special event. Then 'lo and behold and one fantastic party later, and you're hosting the corporate party pattern maker's new style of parties - one that tells your corporations story.
Cater-Hater Tip: Ditch traditional thinking. If you want people talking about your company in a good way, you've got to stir up a little positive controversy. Otherwise, you've spent money on something ordinary. It was just another "nice" event or party. And no one cares.

7.) The "One-Stop Shop" Circus Party

    - Your new "concept event"; held under your special Big Top -
    • A supervised face painting and storytelling playroom for children - complete with everything that their friends will enjoy.
    • Party necessities (good drinks and great food, and music) next to novelties - glitzy gift-filled powder room emporiums that offer the guilt-free pleasure of masseuses and jewelry boutique items for women and men, separately - of course.
Cater-Hater Tip: Family inclusive, evening events are the "parties of the future". Under your Big Top for the evening, everybody's welcome. You'll have no need to hire a babysitter. Your children will be there with you, in a separate party room, safe and secure. Your friends, family, and co-workers won't have their children as an excuse to not attend your parties anymore!

    8.) The Finishing Touch

    - Your party statement piece; glitzy crystal, glamorous fabric head turners anchor your parties look -
    • Tent scarves with glass-beaded fringe - unique and special, they'll make an instant difference! Adding a dramatic effect in any room, hung from a ceiling they look marvelous. Drape them across a bar top. Lay one strategically across a chair. Add a punch of color and style when you place them across the back of a large sofa.
    • Beaded curtained doorways and arches - hinting the reminiscence of the 60's and 70's, beaded curtains have come back into their own. They're strictly pure party decor style!
Cater-Hater Tip: Be sure guests wearing knits and other sensitive fabrics are aware as they walk through your beaded doorways, and sit on furniture. With 100 guests or more, be sure to have something as simple as long and luxurious velvet strips of cloth handy, to use as curtain tie-backs.

    9.) Two-fer's = Double Happiness

    - Your singular style of personal party planning; displayed in multiple stylish looks -
    • Convert your money into savings for your families gathering style - going a different direction, answer the financial demand of any business party using some of the same inexpensive options you use at home.
    • Impress friends, family, and coworkers - show your ability to transfer these Lucky Eleven Party Concepts into your own ideas and amaze everyone!
Cater-Hater Tip: When you think about how much you inherently know about saving money, any "convertible", efficient party concepts and great ideas that you use will come second nature for you to pull off.

    10.) The Titan "Space Queen"

    - Your small space guide; small spaces don't have to give up style -
    • Less is more - plan well and use a tape measure to get things to fit right.
    • Maximize your area - use ottoman's as cocktail tables, and use stacking tables too. Use benches for seating and places to store things. Use mirrored items to bring in light and add the illusion of more space.
Cater-Hater Tip: Small "collages" of things makes everything look balanced and pulled together. Put the larger items in the back, getting smaller as you come forward.

11.) The New Winner of "Made In America of Party Concepts"

    - Your name is "the name"; you are the one - to take Lucky Eleven Party Concepts to another level! -
Cater-Hater Tip: You can be a capable party visionary impresario with these Eleven Lucky numbers to help you stylize your own lucky brand. Now you'll be the one to take your less fashionable friends into the Lucky Eleven Party Concept zone. Talk about "party concept mapping"! Wow!
