For the most part that's okay, except when there are event planners, like one that a housewife on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sheree, was treated rudely by.
Anyone willing to take a chance on hiring that planner that "went there", like he did, well... that's for you to decide.
When you hire someone in the party industry you're making an investment of sorts; for whatever reason you're hosting your event and in the person you decide to hire. And how you're treated will make or break that investment based on our interaction and service.
In the party world, these days consumer relationships are at risk. The business typically available has waned. Why? Because the financial attention span of the consumer who isn't given some do-it-yourself advice is slightly shorter than that of a flea, and rightly so.
And because party consumers are King - if we misuse you, the party consumer, our business life on the Internet can be ended with one click. One click and we're history. Two or three clicks, and we're knocked into Internet Siberia; our message buried and forgotten by you for all time.
The name of the game is: Share. Do the right thing. And treat people fair.
If you want to buy what we party industry people have to offer, you'll contact us. If you want to review our work, you don't really care what someone you don't know personally (knowing us can sometimes be next to impossible, anyway - because some party industry people can be "nice" and not really be nice - as in all walks of life) tells you.
You're intelligent, thinking human beings. You want real interaction and you like talking to real people.
Party information is kind of like a tax on the Internet. A tax of your time, and your attention. And you pay the price - up to a point. If we insist on pretending that only the parties that we plan for you interact with your humanity, a serious point will come when you will be mad as hell and definitely not take it anymore.
Party industry professionals who understand the power of the consumer, win. Because that power is yours.
You, the party consumer. Not decor. Not food. Not flowers. We can't feed you bull and keep you in the dark.
Us talking incessantly about what we'll do for you and how great everything will be won't work. Party consumers are King, and you don't want to be force fed our messages. You're smart enough to know when we try. And if we do (try), your ears, eyes and attention will turn elsewhere.
There's a price to pay for ignoring the basics of what you'll accept as important; that we (party industry people) work for you, the party consumer - who is King.
If we want to get it right, we'll fully engage with you; sharing information. And we'll have to remember that we don't serve anonymous people. We serve real human beings, whose needs may affect their family, business and economic stability. Being aware of that means that our responsibility includes these related problems - if our goal is to adequately care for consumers and everybody else affected by our actions as business people.
Sure, we can create and cater your parties, but you don't care how good we are, if you don't feel that you're our best asset - and when we're not just after getting your business.
When we fully engage with you, the magic happens because we've pushed our party stuff in the background and you into the foreground.
Party consumers are King!
When we don't get that - and we could be banished into Internet Siberia party city, alone.
